Can any asylum seeker and returnees apply for a DAFI scholarship?
Asylum-seekers who have not (yet) been recognized as refugees as well as refugees seeking resettlement in a third country are not normally eligible for a DAFI scholarship. In making the final selection in a given country, every effort will be made to achieve a fair distribution of scholarships among rural/camp-based refugees and urban refugees; as well as among groups of refugees from different ethnic, religious and communal backgrounds, where appropriate.
Currently, the DAFI programme does not support refugees after they returned home. The so called returnees have access to a greater number of academic scholarships and are therefore not included in the DAFI programme.
